It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Patricia Diane Savage-Strauss (age 78) on August 13, 2025
Pat was born on February 8, 1947, in Miami Springs, Florida. She graduated from Hialeah High School. She obtained a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Miami and practiced her craft at several companies, finally retiring from Tower Hill Insurance Group after 17 years of service.
At her core, though, Pat was a caretaker. She always took care of others first before herself. In retirement, she taught the AARP safe driver courses, volunteered with Gainesville Harvest, and often shopped, cooked, and ran errands for neighbors in need of a little extra assistance.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed cruising the world with her husband, Jim.
She enjoyed her very large, but all wonderful, blended family.
Pat was predeceased by her father, Alfred savage, her mother, Eva (Berounsky) Savage, a daughter, Lisa Pazos and a step-son Gavin Strauss. She is survived by her husband, Jim Strauss, her siblings Larry Savage, Tim Savage (wife Paula), Joanne Aguilu (husband Tommy), her children Christopher Pazos (wife Thilda), Eva Rummel (husband Ray), and Tom Inskeep (wife Cindy), and her step-daughter Erica Chatman (husband Michael), grandchildren Jhulianna, Lee, Asia, Alex, Sara, Steven, Shane, Jacob, Haley, and Chelsea. Great grandchildren Kyla, Noah, Gracie, Keaton, Hunter, Taytum, Ryker, Lanie, Dezmond, Fynlee, Sylas, Maverick, Madeline, Dalton, Phoenix, and Lyla.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. A public memorial service will be held at Sara's garden, 190 NW 266th Street, Newberry Florida, 32669, September 27th, 2025, at 3:00 PM.
My sister, my confidant, I miss you so much and feel so lost without you here. I know that you are in that beautiful place that you and I spoke about with each other. We joked about which one of us would go first and you being the trail blazer that you have always been, took that step first. You wanted to be close to all of us, and you knew this was the best way to tackle that task. I feel you with me, I feel you in my sorrow, in the gentle breeze and the beautiful family that we share. You have guided me in our earthly life together and continue to guide me through your spirit which I now carry in my heart. I get to have you with me all of the time now. You have endured a lot during your time here on this earthly plane but seemed to power through each event and have come the winner. You signed up to be the eldest sibling to pave the way for us, showing us to navigate-The trail blazer that you are. Thank you for choosing me to be your sister.
My mom was my best friend, confidant, ride or die, compass, shoulder, and best companion a girl could ever ask for. We had a lot of adventures in my lifetime, a million talks, tears and tons of laughs. She was the most compassionate person I have ever met, and she loved her family fiercely and protected all of us like a mama bear.
She went above and beyond for her friends and would give anyone the shirt off her back. She helped so many people without thinking twice. I am going to miss her for the rest of my life, but I am also going to carry all of my love for her in my heart always. I only hope she knows how proud I was to call her my mom.
Mom was the best mom ever. She was always there for me, through the good times and bad times. She was always there to guide me through life and keep me on the right track.
"I am so grateful for everything you did for me mother." You made my life so much better. You are my biggest inspiration. I always admired your strength and kindness. Thank you for always being there for me, no matter what.
I miss you mom.
